Canberra to Coffs Harbour direct flights to recommence in January 2025

27 November 2024

Established Australian airline Link Airways will re-commence seasonal direct flights between Canberra and Coffs Harbour utilising the airline’s 34 passenger Saab 340B Plus aircraft. First flight will be on Thursday 23 January 2025 with a schedule of two return services per week on Thursday and Sunday.

Canberra Airport’s Head of Aviation, Michael Thomson, is pleased to welcome the return of the service to Coffs Harbour. “We’re excited to reconnect travellers with Coffs Harbour, providing an easy gateway for Canberrans to explore this hidden gem on the Mid North Coast. With its pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and stunning mountain escarpments, Coffs Harbour offers a nature lover’s paradise,” Mr Thomson said.

“This direct service also brings opportunities for mid-north coast locals to experience Canberra and the region’s world-class events, rich culture, and exceptional restaurants and wineries.”

Coffs Harbour Airport General Manager Frank Mondello was excited to welcome back the return of seasonal Canberra services. “The recommencement of Link Airways seasonal services between Coffs Harbour and Canberra will create more choice for our community and add more capacity into the region,” Mr Mondello said.

“The direct service will give locals the opportunity to fly direct and explore Canberra’s wonderful historic museums and galleries, while giving Canberrans the chance to explore the incredible Coffs Coast. Team Coffs Harbour has been working to promote the Coffs Coast as a destination of choice and we thank Link Airways for their support in growing aviation connectivity.”

City of Coffs Harbour Mayor Nikki Williams said: “This is a win-win for Coffs Coasters and Canberrans as both destinations enjoy points of difference. “Our sweeping unspoiled beaches, relaxed lifestyle and lush rainforests are the perfect foil to the Bush Capital offerings. Our renowned extra-long summer will provide the perfect getaway for Canberrans seeking a unique experience at NSW’s first accredited ECO Destination.”

Jeff Boyd, Manager of Network Strategy at Link Airways, said, “We are pleased to reintroduce this service. The previous success of this route gives us confidence that travellers will once again embrace the convenience of these direct flights,” Mr Boyd said.

“It will also create a new convenient connection for travellers through Link Airway’s codeshare partnerships with Virgin Australia, providing great connectivity thanks to Virgin Australia's expansive route network. This announcement strengthens connectivity between the ACT and the Coffs Coast, benefiting business and leisure travellers alike”.

Passengers can earn Velocity Frequent Flyer points under the award-winning Velocity Frequent Flyer program when they travel and Link Airways is also pleased to provide complimentary pre-departure Virgin Australia Lounge access at Canberra airport for customers travelling on ‘Flexible’ and ‘Freedom’ fares.
